“Lift up your eyes and see who has created these stars, The One who brings forth the celestial host by number, He calls each one by name; by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.”  Isaiah 40:26

When we look up at the night sky, it is almost incomprehensible to imagine an infinite number of stars that have been placed in the heavens by The creator, Our creator, God. The radiant beauty of the luminous celestial lights has distinguishing characteristics and attributes which man cannot help but call beautiful and brilliant. God took an unknown substance, gave them qualities so that He recognizes them and even calls them by name. Their beauty is exquisite, causing many people to love to look at the stars, study the night sky and even seek further meaning as to how, why, where and when stars form. What comes to mind is that throughout time man has also been calling stars by name as people discover them, undoubtedly this thought was inspired by God.

“You alone are the LORD You have made the heavens, The highest of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them You give life to all of them And the heavenly host bows down before You. ” Nehemiah 9:6

As the stars are God’s creation, so we are. He knows each of us by name; He even knows the number of hairs on our head, He knows our thoughts and our heart. God see’s us as His beautiful creation, no two of us are the same, each of us has distinguishing characteristics and attributes which He cannot help but call beautiful and brilliant.

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:13

Though God dearly loves us, we often forget to acknowledge the supremacy of His glory and power. In life, when we are overwhelmed, we need to remember that nothing is too great for the creator of heaven, the universe, earth, and mankind to handle on our behalf.

“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.”  Jeremiah 32:17

When you look up to the beautiful night sky remember who hung each light in the heavens, as He stretches the universe in its great expanse so He outstretches His love out to you.

“It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.”  Isaiah 40:22
